Shop Grace 1972

Grace 1972 is my sweet little farmhouse chic shop in Fargo, ND, specializing in all things vintage, rustic and repurposed. Grace shares a home with my husband’s family business, Mehl’s Bakery.  In other words – yes, you can find pillows and cupcakes in the same place! (And coffee, and a fireplace, and cupcakes – did I mention cupcakes?)

Our address is 1404 33rd Street South, Fargo, ND.

Take a peek below of some of the exquisite pieces we’ve gathered just for you at Grace 1972, the place to add history to your home.

full-grace-photo
Sundays we are closed and that is the day I put new pieces on the floor and restyle. The shop faces south and west and I love this time of day in here! It reminds me of my parents’ farmhouse kitchen where the window faced west. It feels like home . . .
garland
If you read my blog post Behind the Name ~ Grace 1972, you read about how my mom’s story inspired the name for the shop. These are one of her garlands that she makes for Grace 1972. I have it styled on my fireplace in my home as an illustration of one of the many ways you can add texture and interest by adding a garland in yours.
cabinet
Meet Agnes! She is the big sister to Iris, (refer to my blog post Vintage Cabinet – The Story of Iris). Agnes (named after my great grandmother) is the most beautiful vintage cabinet. If someone doesn’t take her home for their flat screen tv, I am going to! 🙂 I think it would be so clever to hide your television behind these chicken wire doors when not in use (the shelves are removable) and make the focal point of your living room a beautiful vintage piece instead of a television. Who’s with me?
table-scape
This is my favorite tablescape ever in the history tablescapes. These primitive wooden pieces are actually vintage ox yokes! How cool is that? I think I can see Pa Ingalls using them, seriously. Topped with century old canning jars, a tin bucket, dogwood branches and florals this centerpiece makes a unique statement for any home.
vignette
Versions of every piece of this vignette are available at Grace 1972 – from the white enamel pitcher to the antique clock and scale, you can easily recreate this look for your own home. (The pillows peeking out in the background are also a part of our inventory.)
valentines-day-cabinet
My Valentine’s Day flowers from my dear husband….and a Grace pillow in the background. (I actually got this one dirty so I got to take it home for myself as I couldn’t sell it! I still love it.) He worked very hard to help me make Grace 1972 a reality . . . we did it, honey! 🙂
