It was such an honor to be invited to decorate a home on the Holiday Homes for Hope Tour the beginning of November! This tour is sponsored by our local Cystic Fibrosis Association with all ticket sales benefiting local families in our community dealing with this serious and life threatening disease.

I teamed up with two of my favorite talented local designers, Carrie Brusven from Gathered Boutique Rentals & Events and Allison Lunde from Floret + Foliage to assemble a magical Christmas experience for tour attendees. Come with me on a photo tour of what we created in a chaotic few days transferring product from warehouses, personal collections and inventory in addition to special seasonal product sourcing from our dear friends at Burlap Rustic Chic Boutique.  We assembled it all in the home of a volunteer family who so generously allowed us to treat their home as our personal canvas of creativity.

Let’s make our first stop in the kitchen and dining space of this gorgeous home.

The table belongs to the homeowner but the upholstered captains chairs and three wooden farmhouse chairs are from Burlap Rustic Chic Boutique as are the large rustic door trees.  The settee is from Gathered (and currently for sale!) and the pillows were sewn by, who else, my farm wife mama, Pam Kutz.  The tablescape is a mixture of products from Burlap as well my personal collection of decor I have curated over the years as we all do.

The key to a successful tablescape is always layers – vary your heights from tall to small, greenery is a must and plant all of it on top of a seasonal runner in line with your personal style.  {Shout out to Gathered for the beautiful candle tapers, they add to the warmth of this vignette.}

Next stop is the cozy and bright living room space:

I confess that I hadn’t yet decorated the tree when I shot these photos, so sorry! The light was just so fantastic I went a little nuts with this batch of photos and love how they turned out. The room was 90% done at this point and my key to making it cozy and inviting was the sofa, chair, faux fur throw, coffee table and jute rug from Gathered.  Tucking in products from both my personal collection, Gathered and Burlap, I was really happy with the end result. Whenever I want to curl up in a room myself, I know I’ve succeeding in creating a space that rises up and welcomes all who enter.

The mantel is always a key place to focus on when decorating for the Christmas season (and self sticking Command hooks from 3M are a must!) Layers were once again in order over the top of these neutral stockings. I chose beads from Target and Magnolia eucalyptus garland from the Hearth and Hand collection for the mantel feature on the tour.  The design plan for the main living areas was to stick to a mainly neutral pallet with subtle splashes of red and green to give a nod to the holiday season.

The next place I focused on sprinkling some Christmas magic were the bedrooms of this beautiful home where I went a little more bold with traditional holiday reds in two of the three rooms.

The majority of products I sourced from both my personal collection and Burlap Rustic Chic, my mom sewed several of the pillows shown as well.  The vintage books and candles hail from the Gathered inventory.

The rest of the home was meticulously decorated by Allison and Carrie. Allison swagged fresh magnolia up the stairwell (it was just stunning!) and Carrie decorated and staged the basement playroom with inventory available for rent from Gathered with a few Burlap holiday pillows sprinkled in to round off the Christmas theme.  Their work was truly the candy cane on top of this labor of love project!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by! From Allison, Carrie and I – we hope you enjoyed the tour, whether in person or virtually.  Giving back to our community while having the opportunity to share our talents and passions for a purpose bigger than ourselves is such an honor.
